A customer : Good evening .I would like to buy a good watch of moderate price
الزبون : مساء الخير . أريد شراء ساعة جيدة بسعر معتدل

A seller : Pleasure .Have you seen the variety shown in the shop-window?
البائع : بكل سرور . هل رأيت المجموعة المعروضة فى نافذة المحل

A customer : Yes, I think No.250 suits my purpose
الزبون : نعم ,أعتقد رقم 250 تناسب طلبى

A seller : Here it is one of the best makes. It is water-proof, shock-proof and anti magnetic
البائع : ها هى .انها واحدة من أفضل الماركات .فهى ضد الماء وضد الاصطدام وضد المغناطيسية

A customer : Is it guaranteed?
الزبون : هل لها ضمان

A seller : Yes ,I warrant it for ten years
البائع : نعم , إنى اضمنها لك لمدة 10 سنوات

A customer : how much is it?
الزبون : كم ثمنها

A seller : fifty pounds
البائع : خمسون جنيها

A customer : How dear! Isn't it expensive?
الزبون : إنها غالية ! أليست باهظة الثمن

A seller : Pardon me ! it is gold plated and with calendar
البائع : اعذرنى (عفوا) ولكنها مطلية بالذهب وبها نتيجة

A customer : All right. I'll take it

الزبون: حسنا. سأخذها

Weather and its Changes

الطقس وتقلباته

A: How is the weather now

ما حال الطقس الأن

B: It is like a spring day

إنه كيوم من أيام الربيع

A: It is fine weather .It is splendid

إنه طقس جميل . إنه رائع

B: What season do you like best

ما هو الفصل الذى تفضله أكثر

A: The spring is the most agreeable of all

إن الربيع هو أكثر الفصول مناسبة فيهم

B: I do not like winter at all

أنا لا أحب الشتاء على الإطلاق

A: As for me , I prefer summer to winter

بالنسبة لى ,أنا أفضل الصيف على الشتاء

B: You are right , in summer the days are pleasant and in the night you can enjoy nice walks

أنت على حق ,فى الصيف تكون الأيام مبهجة ويمكنك الاستمتاع بنزهات لطيفة فى المساء

Going Abroad

السفر إلى الخارج

A: Have you ever been abroad?
هل سافرت يوما إلى الخارج

B: I have never had such a good chance.
لم أحظ أبدا بهذه الفرصة الجيدة

A: My brother has been once to England.
لقد سافر أخى مرة إلى إنجلترا

B: I am going to Germany on a mission. I wish I could join Harvard University to get my Doctor's Degree in Science.
سأسافر إلى ألمانيا فى مهمة. أتمنى أن ألتحق بجامعة هارفارد للحصول على درجة الدكتوراة فى العلوم

A: That's a good idea as long as you can afford it. Are you traveling by sea or by air?
هذه فكرة جيدة طالما يمكنك تحمل تكاليفها . هل ستسافر بحرا أم جوا

B: By air.
جوا

A: I wish you a pleasant journey. Good bye
أتمنى لك رحلة سعيدة . إلى اللقاء

B: Thank you, and so-long.

With a Tourist

مع سائح

A tourist : Really Egypt is the land of comfort ,romance ,and history

سائح : حقا إنى مصر هى أرض الراحة والرومانسية والتاريخ

An Egyptian : Is it the first time you visit Egypt?

مواطن مصرى : هل هذه المرة الأولى التى تزور فيها مصر

A tourist :Yes ,the first time but it won't be the last

سائح : نعم , إنها المرة الأولى ولكن لن تكون الأخيرة

An Egyptian : That means that you enjoy your stay in Egypt

مواطن مصرى : هذا يعنى أنك تتمتع بإقامتك فى مصر

A tourist : Very much .We call it the land of the bright shining sun

سائح : جدا .يمكننا أن نطلق عليها اسم :أرض الشمس المشرقة اللامعة

An Egyptian : There are about eighty pyramids in Egypt, but the three located at the Giza are the most important

مواطن مصرى : هناك ما يقرب من ثمانين هرم فى مصر , ولكن الثلاث الموجودين فى الجيزة هم
أهمهم

A tourist : Egypt has beautiful houses ,luxurious hotels ,comfortable boarding houses ,excellent restaurants and pastry shops

سائح : إن فى مصر بيوت جميلة وفنادق فاخرة وبنسيونات مريحة ومطاعم ممتازة ومحلات فطائر

An Egyptian : I hope that you will enjoy a good stay in Egypt

مواطن مصرى : أتمنى لك أن تتمتع بإقامتك فى مصر

A tourist : Thanks for your good wishes

سائح : شكرا لأمانيك المخلصة

An Egyptian : You are welcome ,sir

مواطن مصرى : مرحبا بك , سيدى

A tourist : Thanks and so-long

سائح: شكرا .إلى اللقاء

Asking About Health

السؤال عن الصحة

Ali : How are you?

على : كيف حالك

Alaa : Pretty well ,thank you .And you?

ألاء : جيدة جدا ,شكرا لك. وأنت؟

Ali : So so ,not bad ,not good.

على : بين بين , ليست سيئة وليست جيدة

Alaa : But you do not look very well this morning .Haven't you got any pain?

ألاء : ولكنك لا تبدو بصحة جيدة هذا الصباح.أتشتكى من أى ألم؟

Ali : Oh no ,I just feel out of sorts ,slight headache.

على : لا ,أشعر فقط أن مزاجى منحرف بسبب صداع بسيط

Alaa : By the way , how is your son?

ألاء : بالمناسبة ,كيف حال ابنك؟

Ali : He doesn't feel well .He has been sick for a few days.

على : إنه ليس على ما يرام ,فهو يشعر بتوعك منذ عدة أيام

Alaa : He must follow the rules of health.

ألاء:لابد له أن يتبع القواعد الصحية

Ali : Like what?

على : مثل ماذا ؟

Alaa : To sleep eight hours every night ,to eat fresh fruit and vegetables ,to drink at least six glasses of water every day , and to expose himself to sunshine and fresh air.

ألاء : أن ينام لمدة 8 ساعات كل يوم, وأن يأكل الفاكهة والخضروات الطازجة ,وأن يشرب 6 أكواب من الماء على الأقل كل يوم , ويعرض نفسه لضوء الشمس والهواء النقى

Ali : Yes ,precaution is better than cure.

على : نعم ,الوقاية خير من العلاج

Watching a Football Match

Ali : Why all such a hurry ,Zaki?

على :لما كل هذه العجلة يا زكى

Zaki : I do not want to miss today's football-match

زكى : لا أريد أن أفوت مباراة كرة القدم اليوم

Ali : Is it so interesting?

على : هل هى ممتعة إلى هذه الدرجة

Zaki : Oh yes ,it is an international final match

زكى : نعم .إنها مباراة دولية نهائية

Ali : Who's playing?

على : من يلعب؟

Zaki : Egypt and Austria

زكى : مصر والنمسا

Ali : Do you think Egypt will win?

على : هل تعتقد أن مصر ستفوز

Zaki : I hope so. But Austria has a pretty good team ,they said

زكى : اتمنى ذلك .ولكن يقولون بأن للنمسا فريق جيد إلى حد كبير

Ali : What is the score now?

على : ما هى النتيجة الأن

Zaki : One to zero in favor of Egypt

زكى : 1-0 لصالح مصر

Ali : Oh, Austria scored a goal at the very last moment

على : يا.لقد سجلت النمسا هدفا فى الدقيقة الأخيرة

Zaki : Neither a defeat ,nor a victory .it is a drawn match

زكى : لا هزيمة ولا نصر .إنها مباراة تعادل

التدخين

A: Will you have a cigarette?

هل ستدخن سيجارة؟

B: Yes , I always smoke after eating

نعم , انا ادخن دائما بعد الأكل

A: What a bad habit! Can't you leave off?

يا لها من عادة سيئة !هل بإمكانك أن تقلع عنها

B: I would be very nervous if I did

سأكون متوترا جدا إذا فعلت ذلك

A: Why don't you give up smoking?

لماذا لا تقلع عن التدخين

B: Why should I?

ولماذا أفعل ؟

A: At least to economize

على الأقل لكى توفر

B: I can not do without my pipe

لا أستطيع أن استغنى عن غليونى

A: Stop smoking and save your health and wealth

توقف عن التدخين وانقذ صحتك وثروتك

فى البنك

A customer: If you please, I would like to open a banking account

الزبون : من فضلك,أريد أن أفتح حساب بنكى

A banker: A deposit account or a current account?

المصرفى : وديعة أم حساب جارى

A customer: I want to be able to pay for things by cheque

الزبون : أريد أن أكون قادرا على الدفع بواسطة الشيك

A banker: Then you need a current account

المصرفى : إذن أنت تحتاج حساب جارى

A banker: How much money do you want to be placed in your credit?

المصرفى : كم من المال تريد وضعه فى حسابك

A customer: 200 pounds for the time being

الزبون : 200 جنيه فى الوقت الحالى

A banker: Fill these forms and I'll take the necessary action

المصرفى : إملأ هذه الاستمارات وسأقوم بالإجراءات اللازمة

A customer: Can you change some money for me, please?

الزبون : هل بإمكانك تغيير بعض المال لى , من فضلك

A banker: Certainly. What is it?

المصرفى : بالتأكيد ما هو؟

A customer: I have some French francs

الزبون : لدى بعض الفرنكات الفرنسيه

A banker: The franc is 100 to the pound

المصرفى : الفرنك يعادل 100 من الجنية

A customer: I am very much obliged to you

الزبون : أنا شاكر جدا لك

A banker: Not at all

المصرفى : العفو

AT the Sea-Side

على شاطئ البحر

Ali : Where do you intend to pass your holiday?

على : أين تنوى قضاء اجازتك؟

Zaki : At Stanley Bay in Alexandria ,it is a pleasant sea-side resort

زكى : فى خليج ستانلى فى الاسكندرية ,إنه منتجع ساحر على شاطئ البحر

Ali : How lucky you are!

على : إنك محظوظ!

Zaki : I enjoy swimming from nine to eleven in the morning

زكى : إنى اتمتع بالسباحة من 9 إلى 11 فى الصباح

Ali : Why do you choose this time in particular?

على : لماذا تختار هذا الوقت بالتحديد

Zaki : It is the most suitable time to expose your body to the ultra-violet rays

زكى : إنه أكثر وقت مناسب لتعرض جسمك للأشعة فوق البنفسجية

Ali : I see .But avoid overexposure to sun and water

على : فهمت .ولكن تجنب التعرض الزائد للشمس والمياه

Zaki : On the beach you find men and women ,old and young ,grown-ups and kids ,all walking at leisure with swimming suits

زكى : على الشاطئ تجد الرجال والنساء ,الكبار والصغار , البالغين والأطفال كلهم يمشون فى راحة بملابس السباحة

Ali : Really .in summer ,the sea-side is considered the best enjoyment

على : حقا . فى الصيف يعتبر الشاطئ أفضل متعة

الزبون : هل تسمح أن ترينى بعض خواتم الزفاف

A jeweler : With pleasure .Here you are some beautifully made

الجواهرجى : بكل سرور .ها هى بعض الخواتم الجميلة الصنع

A customer : This one is all right for me .Please engrave the name of my fiancée on it

الزبون : هذا الخاتم جيد بالنسبة لى .انقش اسم خطيبتى عليه من فضلك

A customer : That one is exactly my measure .Put my name on it

الزبون : هذا هو مقاسى بالظبط .ضع اسمى عليه

A jeweler : Anything else?

الجواهرجى : هل تريد أى شئ أخر

A customer : Will you warrant it to be pure gold?

الزبون : هل تضمن أن يكون من الذهب الخالص

A jeweler : Anything we deal in is guaranteed

الجواهرجى :أى شئ نتعامل فيه هو مضمون

A customer : How much does this come to?

الزبون : بكم هذا

A jeweler : Sixty pounds

الجواهرجى : 60 جنيها

A customer : Please, let me have the receipt and the guarantee

الزبون : اعطنى الايصال والضمان من فضلك

A jeweler : Here you are .Happy wedding-day

الجواهرجى : تفضل . اتمنى لك يوم زفاف سعيد

A customer :Thank you and good bye

الزبون : شكرا وإلى اللقاء

البحث عن منزل

Finding a House

Ali : Where do you live , Zaki?

على : أين تسكن يا على ؟

Zaki : At Heliopolis ,dear

زكى : فى هليوبوليس يا عزيزى

Ali : Fine .Can't you help me to find a new house for me?

على : حسنا .ألا يمكنك مساعدتى لأجد منزلا جديدا لى؟

Zaki : Willingly .There is a good selection of houses at reasonable rates

زكى :بكل تأكيد. هناك مجموعة جيدة من المنازل بأسعار معقولة

Ali : Are the rents high or low?

على : هل الإيجارات مرتفعة أم منخفضة

Zaki : A bit high

زكى : مرتفعة قليلا

Ali : How shall I begin to look around?

على : كيف يمكننى أن أبدأ البحث

Zaki : From advertisements ,you can make a list of possibilities, then go around to look at them

زكى :يمكنك أن تضع قائمة من الاحتمالات من الإعلانات ومن ثم يمكنك أن تلقى نظرة عليهم

Ali : I should better get an agent to hunt for an apartment for me

على : من الأفضل لى أن أجد وكيلا ليبحث لى عن شقة

Zaki : All right then, I wish you the best of luck

زكى : حسنا إذن . اتمنى لك حظا سعيدا

At the Barber

A customer : Good morning .I would like to have my hair cut?

الزبون : صباح الخير .أريد أن أقص شعرى

A barber : Good morning ,sir .Have a seat ,please

الحلاق : صباح الخير يا سيدى .اجلس من فضلك

A barber : Do you want your hair cut short or just trimmed?

الحلاق : هل تريد أن أقص شعرك قصيرا أو فقط أشذبه

A customer: I want it short at the back and sides ,please

الزبون : أريده قصيرا من الخلف والجوانب من فضلك

A barber : Would you like a shampoo ,sir?

الحلاق : هل تريد أن تغسله بالشامبو يا سيدى

A customer : No ,thank you .Not today

الزبون : لا ,شكرا.ليس اليوم

A barber :May I trim your moustache?

الحلاق : هل تريدنى أن أشذب لك شاربك؟

A customer :Yes ,please

الزبون : نعم ,من فضلك

A barber : Please .pay at the cashier's desk

الحلاق : ادفع عند مكتب الدفع من فضلك

A customer : Thank you .Keep that for you

الزبون : شكرا .احتفظ بهذا لك

A barber : You are welcome ,sir

الحلاق : مرحبا بك ,سيدى
