One of the most important part of my history is the islamic one, At the start of the 8th century I became under arabic control. Gur'e Amir, Bibi Khanym mosque remaind the city's most notable landmarks. In the 14th century I became the capital of the Timur empire. Amin Maalouf wrote a novel about me.
