Crochet Cotton Size 10
in bright yellow, green, blue and red - small amounts
size 8 crochet hook
size 10 crochet hook or needle
yellow hair elastic (i.e. Goody Article no. 06190),
6 jingle bells (Size 6 mm - i.e. Fibre Crafts article No. 5352)
WITH YELLOW
sl st onto the rubberband (preferably yellow as well), ch1, 60sc around the rubber band to cover it evenly - sl st to first sc = 60 sc
ch1, sc in same as beginning chain and each stitch around, fasten off, sew in ends = 60 sc
WITH RED
Attach red with sl st to any stitch
1) sc in same stitch as joining and in next 9 stitches, ch 1, turn = 10 stitches
2) sc in all 10 stitches from previous round, ch1, turn = 10 stitches
3) sc decrease over next two stitches, sc in next 6 stitches, sc decrease over next two, ch1, turn = 8 stitches
4) sc in all 8 stitches from previous round, ch1, turn = 8 stitches
5) sc decrease over next two stitches, sc in next 4 stitches, sc decrease over next two, ch1, turn = 6 stitches
6) sc in all 6 stitches from previous round, ch1, turn = 6 stitches
7) sc decrease over next two stitches, sc in next 2 stitches, sc decrease over next two, ch1, turn = 4 stitches
8) sc in all 4 stitches from previous round, ch1, turn = 4 stitches
9) (sc decrease over next two stitches) twice ch1, turn = 2 stitches
10) sc in both stitches from previous round, ch1, turn = 2 stitches
11) sc decrease over next two stitches, ch1, turn = 1 stitch
12) sc stitch from previous round, fasten off
Attach Blue to stitch immediately following the 10th red first row stitch - repeat rows 1 through 12
Attach Green to stitch immediately following the 10th first row blue stitch, repeat rows 1 through 12
Repeat around with all 3 colors. Sew in all ends.
WITH YELLOW
Thread all 6 bells onto yellow thread - I used a size 10 hook to go through the back of the bell to pull yellow through, a needle should work as well.
Attach yellow with sc down into first rnd between any two triangles. *Sc into side of each row of triangle to top (12 sc), 2 sc into top st of triangle, pull up bell, ch 1 (this secures the bell in place), 2 sc into same st, 12 sc into side of each row going down triangle, sc into row below and between triangles, rep from * around. - fasten off, sew in ends.
This Scrunchie looks best on thicker hair - only twist it once and fold all
triangles down as shown on the picture.
