Rnds 3 - 10: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join.
Rnd 11: For Heel, ch 1, sc in first st, hdc in each of next 2 st, dc in each of next 2 st, 2 trc in next st, dc in each of next 2 st, hdc in each of next 2 sts, sc in last 14 sts, join with sl st in first sc.(25 sts)
Rnd 12: Ch 1, sc in first st, hdc in each of next 2 sts, dc in each of the next 2 sts, trc next 2 sts together, dc in each of next 2 sts, hdc in each of next 2 sts, sc in last 14 sts, join as before.(24)
Rnd 13: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join with sl st in top of ch 2.
Rnd 14: For cuff, working this rnd in back loops, ch 2, hdc in each st around, join as before.
Rnds 15 - 17: Ch 2, hdc front post(fp) around next st. *back post(bp) around next st, fp around next st; repeat from * around and join. At end of last rnd. Fasten off.
Ruffle: With top of sock facing you, working in front loops of rnd 13, join white with sc in any st, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next st, *sc in next st, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next st; repeat from *around, join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

SOLE
R1: Ch6, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea rem ch. (5sc)

Rs4-11: Rep R3
R12: Ch1, turn. Sc dec over 2 sts. Sc in next 3 sts. Sc dec over last 2 sts.
Edging: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st and in each row end around entire piece. (36sc)
Fasten off and mark as right side.
HEEL
R1: With RS facing, working in bl's only. Reattach yarn in the center stitch on RS of sole. (7 sts back from the original fasten off point) Sc around to same point on opposite side. (19sc)
R2: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.
Rs3-4: Rep R2.
R5: Ch1, turn. Sc in 1st st. (Ch1, sk next sc, sc in next sc) around.
R6: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea sc and ch1 sp.
R7: (Ch3, sc in next st) around.
Fasten Off.
TOE
R1: With left side of bootie facing you, reattach yarn in the BL only of the first unworked st on the sole edging. Ch1, sc in BL of ea st around.
R2: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.
R3: Ch1, turn. (Sc in same st. Sc dec over 2sts) across.
R4: Rep R3.
R5: Ch4, turn. Sl st in same st. Ch3. Sl st in st on other end of same round. (this forms a little hole on the top of the toe). Ch4, sl st in the same st.
Fasten Off.
FINISHING




With CA:Ch 3, join to form a ring. Ch 3, 2 dc into ring, Ch 2, (3 dc into ring, Ch 2) three times, join to top of Ch3, finish off. Weave in ends.
With CB: Attach CB in any stitch and Ch 3 (counts as first dc). Dc in each dc around. Work (dc, Ch2, dc) in each Ch2 space around. Join to top of Ch3, finish off. Weave in ends.
Ankle ribbing:
With MC: Attach in any Ch2 space. Ch 21. Attach to adjacent Ch2 space, being careful not to twist chain. This forms the foundation for the ankle ring.
Row 1: Ch 3, dc in each chain space around. Dc in Ch2 space, dc in each of 5 dc stitches across instep, dc in Ch2 space, join to top of Ch3. Count your dc stitches and make sure you have an even number. If not, adjust accordingly. This is the row for weaving ribbon through.
Row 2: Ch3 (counts as first Back Post dc), (Front Post dc in next dc, Back Post dc in next dc) around. Join to top of Ch3.
Rows 3-5: Repeat Row 2 for each of rows 3, 4, and 5. Finish off. Weave in ends.
Foot of bootie:
Row 1: Turn bootie upside down. Attach MC to free loop from the foundation chain of any stitch along side of bootie and Ch 1. Using the free loop from the foundation chain, hdc in same stitch and hdc in each stitch around. 2 hdc in Ch2 spaces of Granny Square instep. Hdc in each dc of Granny Square instep. Join.
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in same stitch, hdc in each stitch around. Join.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2.
Row 4: Fold bootie in half lengthwise and mark extreme ends of toe and heel with a pin or scrap of yarn. Ch 1, hdc in each stitch around to 3rd stitch before toe or heel. Work 3 hdc decreases over next 6 hdc stitches. Continue hdc around to 3rd stitch before toe or heel. Work 3 hdc decreases over next 6 hdc stitches. Continue hdc around. Join. See below for explanation of hdc decrease.
Rows 5-6: Repeat Row 4 for rows 5 and 6. Finish off, leaving an 8-inch tail.

Finishing

Pattern Notes:
Shell: 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same stitch
Hint: Hint.....the first 9 rows will always start with a sc and end with a dc.
Directions: Ch 31 with white.

Row 11: ch. 3 turn (does NOT count as first stitch) dc in first stitch, ch 1, dc 2 times more in the same stitch...(makes shell) *Then skip a stitch and sc in next stitch. skip a stitch and work shell in next stitch* across to last stitch and sc in it. Finish off .... sew together with right sides facing ........ Weave in ends.
