i suggest that we should talk about our mistakes for example if i did something wrong on my spelling or my grammar we should fix it and talk about it, so by this way we would give ourselves the opportunity to learn more ..anyway thanx

first of all i would like to thank Quen for this idea, it's a great idea and I agree to go on with it.

I would like to tell you my story with English. I learned in Arabic schools so my English wasn't so good, my mom tried to enter me English centers in the summer as my sister but I didn't like it at all, and I was allways say I'm so poor I can't do it all others are better than me,,, although my level was upper intermediat.

Then when I'm in the secondry school mom suggested again to let me use English with an exciting way. So she suggest on me to begin collect friends (girls of course) from all over the world who talk English. First it was so hard to me, so I was giving my sister the letter to tell me some sentences I don't understand, and I was write the letter in Arabic in separate paper and she translate it to English then I rewrite it. after that I began to write in English by myself but in separate paper and she correct my mistakes. After that I became write the letter right away with out any correction from her.

Actually this idea was great and I collected many friends from all over the world I had more than 10 friends at the same time. And it was great also to learn about different traditions and cultures.

Now I became much better than before and I can read English books, also I took IT deploma in English and I got Excellent results.but I still have a bit wrong spelling and the big proplem that I can write well but when talking I can't do it well. So I took a conversation course to make myself much better in that point, but I always write the pragraph which I want to say then prepare my self to say it. I'm still poor in conversations...

So any one have an idea for my proplem?!

raelly when i read your reply , i really feel with you
because many of us can write , and can talk to himeself in English,
but when we want to talk infront of other people we feel that there is something catching us!!!

indeed thats what i feel , i feel shy to speak in English infront
of other people...

so i started to chat with friends like you in English but the problem
is that when i enter the chat i find difficulty in talking with such
native speakers,

first of all :sometime they wanted just to speak with girls, in many
silly subjects....
then, they sometimes used slang language, which we will get benefit from it....

so i have this idea to chat with our friends here...
but also i hope to chat with a good native speaker
in many good subjects


but really your English is excellent

how are you today?
we are happy that you feel yourself is better than before

you know, may be when we want a word to use it in chat
we start looking for it ,in order to explain what we need.

so i think when we need a word to say we start thinking and thinking
of it ...so i think we will not forget it

anyway,
if you want to go for shopping and the seller dosent speak arabic
dont hesitste to try using what you know from your words
and vocabulary.

try to explain as much as you can using many words
if you want for example to buy ....mmmmmmmmmm,lets say a flash memory...and you dont know its name in English , you can say for example :

" i want to ask for something for my computer to put it so
i can save data in it...it is small and i can carry it wherever
i go"

that just an example

if you want any sentences you can write it here in Arabic and
we can translate them for you to use it when you go shopping

the most important that dont feel shy at all
and remeber you are better than many people who dont know English at all

but we need courage to speak it
